On June 18, 2024, TechCA hosted the EDDNext leadership team for a panel discussion on the comprehensive modernization efforts underway at California’s Employment Development Department (EDD). The panel featured key leaders, including Ron Hughes, EDDNext Project Director; Loree Levy, EDD Deputy Director for Public Affairs; Ajit Girn, EDD Chief Information Officer; and Adam Brunner, Chief of the EDDNext Transformation Office.

The event highlighted EDD’s mission to enhance California’s economic growth by delivering innovative services to employers, workers, and job seekers. With nearly 10,000 employees and over 200 service locations, EDD is one of the largest state departments, playing a critical role in the state’s economy by administering unemployment and disability benefits, Paid Family Leave, and federal workforce development programs.
