Chief of Application Technology Services Branch (ATSB) - Department of Public Health
Under the administrative direction of the Information Technology Services Division (ITSD) Assistant Deputy Director (CTO), the Information Technology Manager (ITM) II, Application Technology and Support Branch (ATSB) Chief directs all activities in the branch and provides leadership and direction to professional and technical staff throughout the Department regarding all aspects of California Department of Public Health (CDPH) information technology (IT) applications development and support functions. The ITM II works directly with the CDPH Chief Information Officer (CIO), Information Security Officer, Project Management Officer, and CDPH Executive staff to advise on all matters relating to CDPH IT policies and complex technical issues. The technical Issues include the following: drafting the department wide IT strategic plan; selection of enterprise wide technology that meets department standards; transforming legacy technology to modern enterprise standards and adopting platforms that take advantage of new technologies; discovering the best pathways to take advantage of existing legacy systems and migrating them to modern platforms that align with standards developed within the IT strategic plan. In addition, the ITM II initiates, develops, and implements CDPH IT policies, as well as oversee the maintenance and operation of the CDPH application development branch. The ITMII will provide the leadership, support, and management of CDPH’s business applications including the Women Infant and Children (WIC) systems, California Reportable Disease Information Exchange (CalREDIE), the HIE Gateway, and other Disease reporting systems.
