The TechCA Small Business Committee met last week for the first time, kicking off its 2021 agenda for California’s technology association members.

Association leadership has tapped Chad Hodges, EVP of Sacramento-based Enterprise Networking Solutions, Inc., to chair the Small Business Committee.

We had a good turnout for the committee’s first meeting. Not surprisingly, we had several large tech companies that joined the committee and expressed their support for our small business members. Many times, it’s small, local businesses that serve as resellers and consultants for large manufacturers that partner to help government agencies.

After a robust conversation, the committee set priorities for the year, including:

  • Raise procurement thresholds for small businesses doing business with the state.
  • As a way to promote economic recovery, create a coalition to join with other industry partners to support small businesses in California.
  • Engage with state and local officials to develop a clear path for small tech companies to thrive in the post-COVID-19 era.

Stay tuned for more details as the committee gets started on important work for 2021!
